Dr Stephanie Davies

Pain Specialist & Anaesthetist

Stephanie Davies is a highly accomplished Pain Management Specialist based in Perth. With over 20 years of experience, she is recognised for her expertise in pain procedure innovation, leading multidisciplinary teams, pain specialist mentoring, and personalised medicine.

With a deep commitment to staying at the forefront of her field, Dr Davies continuously seeks to integrate the latest advancements into her practice. She has a keen interest in pain procedure innovation, constantly exploring new techniques to improve patient outcomes and minimise opioid use. Dr Davies is known for her tailored approach to pain management, prioritising personalised medicine to address each patient’s unique needs.

As a Pain Management Specialist, Dr Davies is committed to alleviating pain, improving quality of life, and empowering her patients to live their lives to the fullest. Whether through innovative pain procedures, personalised treatment plans, or mentoring other specialists, Dr Davies remains dedicated to advancing the field of pain management and helping patients find relief.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Davies has made significant contributions in the field of pain management. She has a passion for mentoring other pain specialists, sharing her knowledge and experience to help them excel in their careers. Additionally, Dr Davies has a special interest in nutraceutical formulations, actively researching and incorporating evidence-based natural supplements into her treatment plans.

Dr Davies obtained her Medical Doctor degree (MBBS) from the University of Western Australia in 1988. She went on to pursue further specialisation in the field of anaesthesiology, completing her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 1996. Dr Davies then honed her skills in pain management by obtaining a Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FFPMANZCA) in 2000.

She initially consulted in Bunbury, WA, and then briefly went to work in Essex, UK, before settling down in Perth in 2005. From 2008 to 2014, she served as Head of Service for the Fremantle Hospital Pain Medicine Unit, where she established the Self-Training Educative Pain Sessions (STEPS) program, which has since been replicated locally and nationally. She has been the Head of Service for the Complex Pain Service at Fiona Stanley Hospital since 2021. She enjoyed running Painless, her private practice, until she downsized at the end of 2022, when she established LessPain4Life to enable her to focus on personalised care for her patients.

Dr Jonitha Nadarajah

Pain Medicine Specialist & Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist

LessPain4Life is pleased to announce that Dr Jonitha Nadarajah joins the team as a Pain Specialist. Dr Nadarajah has extensive experience in pain management, having worked for many years in the Pain Management Department at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH), where she has provided comprehensive care to patients with chronic pain. She has a well-established reputation for delivering high-quality, evidence-based treatment and has collaborated closely with Dr Stephanie Davies, the founder of LessPain, for several years.

In addition to her expertise in pain medicine, Dr Nadarajah is also a specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine and currently practices at Osbourne Park Hospital. Her Dual expertise in functional rehabilitation and pain management allows her to take a holistic, patient-centred approach to care for patients with complex pain.

Dr Nadarajah is interested in all areas of chronic pain. Her commitment to advancing patient care through multimodal and innovative treatment approaches makes her a valuable addition to the LessPain team.

Dr Nadarajah prioritises patient-centred care, actively listening to each individual’s story and creating tailored, evidence-based treatment plans to improve their quality of life.

Dr Nadarajah collaborates with patients to develop personalised treatment plans, incorporating pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, multidisciplinary care, and interventional strategies for comprehensive pain management.

Dr Nadarajah, in collaboration with Dr Stephanie Davies, offers a range of interventional pain management strategies, including pulsed radiofrequency neurotomies, epidural injections, platelet-rich plasma injections, and joint steroid injections.

Dr Jeremy Tannenbaum

BSc, MBBS (Hons.), FRANZCP, FFPMANZCA

Dr Jeremy Tannenbaum is a dual-qualified Specialist in Pain Medicine and Psychiatry. He completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists before undertaking further subspecialty training in Pain Medicine, earning a second Fellowship with the Faculty of Pain Medicine (ANZCA).

Dr Tannenbaum received a Merit Award in the Faculty of Pain Medicine’s 2021 written and clinical examinations, ranking among the top four candidates from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Trained in Western Australia, Dr Tannenbaum currently holds a public appointment as a pain specialist at a major tertiary hospital and maintains a mixed private practice, with a growing focus on pain medicine. He now consults at LessPain, offering integrated expertise in both pain and psychiatric care.

Dr Tannenbaum has special interests in emerging and innovative treatments, including neuromodulation, psychedelic-assisted therapies, digital health transformation, chronic illness service development, and medicolegal medicine. He also provides independent expert medicolegal opinions as a founding specialist with Tikva Medicolegal.

Dr Tannenbaum practices harm minimisation principles, focusing on opioid minimisation, especially of typical ‘morphine-like’ opioids, non-opioid pharmacotherapy, and non-pharmacological management, including minimally invasive pain procedures, and psychosocial and lifestyle interventions. He does not prescribe codeine, morphine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, methadone, fentanyl, ketamine or any injectable medications. Dr Tannenbaum is not currently routinely accepting patients for long-term psychiatric management.

Ian Cheok

Senior Principal Occupational Therapist

As an occupational therapist, Ian’s focus includes chronic pain care, mental health recovery and neurorehabilitation. He strongly believes that when people are able to participate in activities they truly enjoy, their health and well-being will be greatly improved. He thrives in helping others express the best version of themselves by honouring their unique personality and working around their strengths.

Ian has a deep interest in immersive and assistive technologies in healthcare, and has worked with numerous community-based organisations and private practices to deliver occupational therapy services and implement healthcare technology projects.

Ian completed his Occupational Therapy training at Curtin University, receiving the Head of the School Award and Outstanding Mentor Award. Additionally, he has received training in chronic pain management from McGill University and The Neuro Orthopaedic Institute, and brings a unique blend of clinical and technology skills to the team. Ian has also been involved as a Clinical Supervisor to 4th year Honours OT students from Curtin University and Edith Cowan University.

Natalie Raymond

Psychologist

Natalie has extensive experience working with both adults and children, providing evidence-based treatment for a variety of mental health issues. She has a special interest in health-related issues, managing pain, improving sleep, restoring wellbeing after trauma and working with anxiety and depression. 

Natalie focuses on providing treatment that is individualised, caring and non-judgemental. She utilises modalities such as Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Child-Centred Play Therapy. As a psychologist, Natalie aims to help people manage life’s challenges, build confidence, create hope and foster meaningful life experiences.

Natalie is Registered with the Psychologists Board of WA; and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and Australian Association of Psychologists Inc, a Member of the International Society of Schema Therapy, a Member of the Australian Society of Hypnosis and an Associate Member of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA).
